Time is on my side

Friday, 10/22/2010

Did you know that God will allow you to sit/rest/share, with people whom are strategically placed by Him to shape and mold your character for a set TIME and appointed Reason?

Psalm 23:5 says "You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies"This Biblical text has been used to described as someone who wants to harm you, and destroy you.
Truth be told the only one who wants to do that is the destroyer, our adversary the devil.

God is Sovereign and He allows you to be exposed for some TIME, with folks who don't think the same way as you and act a certain way or say things that hurt you.He allows you to be their only witness, and at times the situation becomes so exhausting that you begin to wonder if you have lost your faith. You become so let down, because you wonder how come none else will notice? At times He will allow you to be ridiculed and made to look like its your fault. False evidence appearing to look real are brought up against you and you think that He has forgotten you and there's nothing you can say or do that can make that person or those people, or that situation change.

Why?

Because all along He wanted to make a Better you. A humble you. An obedient you.

He prepared a table before your "enemies" because He wanted to build you up and make you strong in Him. He wanted the Fruit of the Spirit to be manifested in you. He wanted you to learn how to fight that battle that has been made to us since the fall of Adam. To master the struggle that is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms.

He wanted to test you, build you, teach you, to take you to a higher ground. There is a greater reason though. He prepared a table before you, in the presence of your enemies, because He wanted you to LOVE them.

No greater love has anyone known, than the one who lays down his own life for another.Love is what will take you to the open door of your NEW SEASON.

So while you are being served, in the same table as your aggressors, in this space called TIME, remember His Love covers multitudes of sin.

The beauty of that, is that you are not alone.

The latter part of that verse says that He anoints your head with oil and makes your cup overflow.
Praise be to Jesus, He left you His Holy Spirit. The Counselor, who soothes you, strengthens you and guides you with wisdom.

Do you remember Joseph?
He was sold by his brothers;thrown in the cistern;taken to the palace.

He was accused of committing adultery;sentenced to served TIME in prison, only to end up ruler of the land.

Genesis 45:4-8 (The Message) "Come closer to me," Joseph said to his brothers. They came closer. "I am Joseph your brother whom you sold into Egypt. But don't feel badly, don't blame yourselves for selling me. God was behind it. God sent me here ahead of you to save lives. There has been a famine in the land now for two years; the famine will continue for five more years—neither plowing nor harvesting. God sent me on ahead to pave the way and make sure there was a remnant in the land, to save your lives in an amazing act of deliverance. So you see, it wasn't you who sent me here but God. He set me in place as a father to Pharaoh, put me in charge of his personal affairs, and made me ruler of all Egypt.

Tonight as I write this message to you, I am compelled by this story yet again, which makes me, your servant understand, that TIME is on My side and LOVE stands the TEST of TIME.

Be encouraged as you read. If it blesses you, drop me a line! I would like to pray for you if you are experiencing the death of a promise.

Current mood: sleepy Category: Life

Have you ever experienced the death of a promise? How could the Lord speak His promise so clearly and allow it to DIE! When I believed for the restoration of my marriage, I was sure that God had spoke it to me. Everything aligned to the word. I heard the word, I had faith, people came in agreement with me-IT HAD TO HAPPEN! Somewhere between my transformation in the Lord, and the birth of my fourth son, Joshua, the plans of God were altered, and this promise was no more. It was stillborn. Maybe I helped it too much (and you know how God does not need your help...Abraham, Sarah, Hagar); maybe I was too passive. Maybe my faith was tested....Well, questions that seemed left unanswered, God is taking care of bringing them to a closure. I was reading this book by Chuck D. Pierce called "God's Now Time for Your Life" and came to chapter 4, where he talked about "Hope Deferred". All of a sudden, it hit me! I am getting divorced, and I have perfect peace. The peace that surpasses all understanding....I am letting go, because I was called to leave in peace! Although I had tried before to 'let go and let God", all other times had failed because I didn't have the revelation of "submission" & understanding "DEATH". I read in the book that "the quicker I submit to God, the quicker I can resist the devil". See God will give you the ability to overcome the enemy( the enemy of loneliness, desperation, frustration, rejection, mourning) so that the DOUBLE PORTION of what has been robbed will be re-stored!

The death of a promise allures another. Even though we don't understand what has happened in our lives, in the midst of our loss and resulting grief, we need to learn to submit quickly to God's greater plans for our life. Once we truly submit our lives to Him, the hard times we go through will become a blessing as the word says in Romans 8:28.
Loss has it's benefits. It is in the time of loss that God shakes us and if we endure the shaking we come out stronger, and with a greater level of maturity. During our time of "mourning" we have a unique opportunity to rise to new levels and come to a deeper understanding of God's awesome grace. His grace is ALWAYS sufficient. Loss produces Joy. There are many joyful things we would never experience had we never experienced the loss. "The deeper the sorrow, the more capacity of joy we seem to have".

I remember when I was pregnant with Joshua I read Psalm 126 over and over, and that word became a Rhema word in my life: "they that sow in tears will reap with Joy". There are many Scriptures in the bible that link loss to joy. John 16:22 says: "therefor you now have sorrow, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice! And your Joy, NO ONE WILL TAKE FROM YOU!" Losing someone or something, does not have to leave a painful memory, but a memory of a wonderful story, hence the product of my children. A loss can produce change. It can make us take a different turn towards a road that changes our destination. 1 Cor.2:9 speaks about what "no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor entered in the heart of man, what God has planned..." Loss produces RESURRECTION: God's response to loss, is always restoration in some form. It doesn't necessarily mean the same thing over, but something different, something BETTER.When death comes, God longs for the Resurrection process.

Just tonight, my pastor was preaching about the APOSTOLIC, and how those who move in the Apostolic have what you call "The Grace To Suffer". Although as believer's we are called to fellowship in Christ's suffering. That type of fellowship leads us to His Resurrection power to be manifested in us!

Oh my GOD! I can go on speaking about of all the things I've learned about this last season; Faith, loss, love, self-pity, faithlessness, injustice, betrayal, submission, favor and prophetic promises, double portion, Joseph, Paul, Romans...covenant.
When covenants are broken, the enemy will target the fruit of that covenant. Divorce is the most prominent form of covenant breaking and it is often said that the victims are the children of the marriage. The enemy will try to use this to strip our favor and try to cause God's plans to be altered in our future generations with misguidance and putting dysfunctional relationships in them. But God will reposition us for prophetic fulfillment. Again, this is a matter of quickly submiting to the hand of God. God has a way, even in the midst of betrayal, and the dessert to bring favor and put us in strategic positions...I strongly believe that things are breaking in the spirit in my life, as we speak...they are turning in my favor. Once the cycle is completely done, there will be an overflow of things that have been held in the spirit, that could not have been released, till this came to a closure.

I cannot allow grief or fear to remove my favor.
"But GOD" is at work in my life.I will not allow favor to be stripped from me. I will keep operating in the gifts He has given me and I will move forward into my destiny because "But GOD" will make a way.I have chosen the garment of praise over the spirit of heaviness.
Loss is simply a painful fact of life, yet as we submit to the hand of God it becomes a tool that escorts us from a season of loss, into a season of joy....and prophetic fulfillment.
I AM EXPECTING TO BE UNEXPECTEDLY BLESSED!
I expect the presence of the Lord to rest on me (Isa. 60;2)
I expect new vision to rise in me(Isa.60:4)
I expect new joy to overwhelm me (Isa.60:5)
I expect that new supply is coming (Isa.60:6-7)
I expect Praise to begin to break loneliness (Isa.60:6)
I expect God to release strength to complete my building project (Isa.60:9-10)
I expect new favor and new doors and connections to be opened (Isa. 60:10)
IN JESUS NAME! AMEN!

You must diligently obey the commands of the Lord your God—all the laws and decrees he has given you.
Do what is right and good in the Lord's sight, so all will go well with you.
- Deut 6:17-18

A day in the life of ME.
How is it that a kindergartener can get SO much Homework?? Jeez-Louise!!
You'd think he was preparing for the FCAT or some Midterm!
So that was my morning. Isaiah was able to finish all of it (in the car) on our way to his school.
I don't really like dropping him off with the cross guard though, but man was I pressed for time!
You should see his little frantic face...almost looked like he was gonna jump off a plane or about to go into surgery. Anyway, the fact of the matter is, that the weekend came and went, and this little guy had an excessive amount of HW that could have been done over the weekend.
Although he spend the weekend @ his grandmother's, its not the first time we go through this Manic-Monday scenario.
The bible tells us that we most be diligent with our time.
2 John 1:8 says that when we are diligent we will receive a full reward. It speaks about not relying to laziness.
We must do what is right at all times. Can you imagine if we actually did do what God asked us to do, when He did? Or we simply did what we did when we were supposed to?
We would avoid so many set backs, so many disappointments.
You know, I came to the conclusion, that it all boils down to obedience.
It is part of our human nature to be rebellious. Whether its passive rebellion or active rebellion, our free-will tends to always fall towards what's more comfortable, therefore causing us to be laid back.
The result of that opens the door to disobedience. Food for thought!

Father God. Help me to be diligent with all the things that you have assigned for me to do, specially when it has to do with my children. Allow me to be able to separate what's really important and give me the wisdom to prioritize and divide my time according to your will and your commandments. I ask you this in Jesus name. Amen.
